Increasing heat and humidity over the weekend; occasional storms

Skies will be mostly sunny on Thursday before clouds begin to thicken during the day. Isolated showers and thunderstorms will hit some of the northern counties from sunset to midnight. Maximum temperatures will rise to over 30 degrees, reaching almost 32 degrees inland and just under 27 degrees on the coast.

The muggy air will continue through the holiday weekend, with scattered showers and storms each day, especially during the afternoon to evening hours. Not every day will be a disaster, but make sure you have a backup plan in case you get caught in one of the afternoon storms that pass by. Memorial Day Monday will start the day with a mix of clouds and sunshine before another round of showers and storms roll in during the afternoon and evening. Just like the weekend, it won’t be wet all day, but keep the umbrella and rain jacket ready. Highs will stay at or above 90°, as highs and lows will be in the upper 60s.

Tuesday will likely be the last day of the unclear pattern as a cold front will approach our area. Rain showers and storms will increase throughout the day and into the overnight hours as some of the storms could be strong to severe, however these will be isolated. Highs will be in the mid 80s on Tuesday and then fall into the upper 70s through the middle of next week, along with lower humidity levels. There are also lows in the 50s.
