HOUSTON – The Houston area was hit Monday afternoon with a precipitation rate of about 4 inches per hour as of 2 p.m., according to KPRC 2 meteorologists Justin Stapleton and Caroline Brown. Both airports had ground stops, Arcola had a funnel cloud, Sugar Land had damage during the storms.
