Houston attorney Jeffrey Limmer was killed in a fight at McDonald’s

Jeffrey Limmer, 46, died after being shot multiple times, according to Houston police.

The shooting happened around 6 p.m. Saturday at a fast food restaurant near the intersection of Chimney Rock and Katy Freeway.

In a news release Monday, Houston Police Department officials said Limmer and the gunman got into a “verbal disagreement” before the shooting. A police spokesman confirmed on Tuesday that Limmer tried to intervene in a dispute between another customer and a McDonald’s employee.

According to Houston Chronicle reporting partner ABC 13, Limmer and the man got into an argument inside the restaurant after the man became upset about his order and then walked outside. While they were outside, Limmer pushed the man to the ground. The man then got up, got a gun and shot Limmer, the television station said. He died at the scene of the accident.

Limmer was an associate at Lewis Brisbois. He was a graduate of the University of Texas and South Texas College of Law, according to a biography posted on the firm’s website.

Limmer’s sister told ABC13 that he lives near McDonald’s.

Police said the shooter drove away from the store in a blue 2000s Ford pickup.

There were no arrests.
