Buffalo Bills hire former NFL referee John Parry

The Buffalo Bills will try to better understand the rules in 2024.

According to reports such as the New York Post, former NFL referee John Parry was hired by the team:

Parry, 59, was previously an NFL referee from 2007 to 2018 and primarily a sideline judge from 2000 to 2006. Parry has two Super Bowls on his resume.

Since 2019, he has been an ESPN rules analyst.

It’s likely that the Bills, including Buffalo head coach Sean McDermott, will use Parry in some capacity to improve their in-game challenges. It remains to be seen how much Parry could help, but McDermott has an overall track record of 10-23 on the challenges of his head coaching career.

According to ESPN, Parry’s title with the team is that of a “liaison referee.” He would have the ability to help in some way during the game’s challenges.
