Victim shot in driving aggression incident near East Hamilton Middle

CHATTANOOGA, Tenn. (WDEF) – Officers with the Hamilton County Sheriff’s Office responded Sunday afternoon to the attack on a person who was believed to have been shot in a road rage incident.

The victim drove himself to the nearby Tri-Community Fire Hall to get help around 4:00 p.m. He was reported to have a gunshot wound to his left shoulder.

He was taken to a local medical facility for treatment.

Detectives headed out to investigate the shooting and found the victim and his daughter traveling north on Ooltewah-Ringgold Road when they encountered a group of six motorcycles.

At some point during the ride, an aggressive incident occurred between the motorcyclist and the victim, which resulted in one of the motorcyclists firing shots at the victim’s vehicle near East Hamilton Middle School.

A ticket was issued for a motorcycle matching the description given by the victim’s daughter. Shortly thereafter, Catoosa County Sheriff’s Office officers stopped a motorcycle matching that description. Upon searching the suspect, identified as Michael Holloway, a .380 caliber handgun was found.

47-year-old Michael Holloway was arrested by the Catoosa County Sheriff’s Office and taken to the Catoosa County Jail.

The Hamilton County District Court has issued an arrest warrant for Holloway on a charge of aggravated assault.
