Buffalo Grove police have arrested and charged a Virginia man for allegedly starting a fire in the men’s restroom of Woodman’s Grocery Store.

According to police, at approximately 10:37 a.m. on Wednesday, July 10, officers were dispatched to Woodman’s, 1550 E. Deerfield Pkwy., for a report of a fire that was located and extinguished in the men’s restroom. The fire was extinguished before officers arrived.

Upon arrival at the scene, officers observed damage to the toilet cubicle and surrounding area of ​​the bathroom.

Officers reviewed security footage from the store, which showed the subject, later identified as Kiara Davis, entering the restroom just before the fire was reported.

Davis, 29, of Norfolk, Virginia, was located around 1 a.m. on July 11, arrested and charged with arson. Davis was scheduled to appear in Lake County Court First Appearance Court on July 11.
