Pr. George Police Investigating Triple Shooting in District Heights Area

A man was shot dead outside a store in the District Heights neighborhood on Monday afternoon and two other people were injured, Prince George’s County police said.

Officers responded to a reported shooting at about 3:15 p.m. outside the Fresh Market 24/7 in the 5400 block of Marlboro Pike, Capt. Sonny Batth said. When officers arrived, they found three victims with gunshot wounds — a woman and two men — in the parking lot and performed life-saving measures, Batth said.

One of the men, a man in his 20s, died at the scene, Batth said. The woman, a woman in her 50s, and the other man, a man in his 60s, were taken to a hospital. The woman underwent surgery and the man is in stable condition, Batth said.

“My officers from homicide, our patrol unit and our evidence unit are all here going through all the evidence to piece together what really happened here today,” Batth said.
