1 dead after shooting involving police officer in Wilson, police say

WILSON, NC (WNCN) — One person is dead following a police-involved shooting early Sunday morning, according to Wilson police.

At 12:30 a.m. Sunday, officers were dispatched to the 900 block of Hood Street for a report of shots fired in the area. Upon arrival, they say they encountered a suspect who posed a threat.

Shots were fired and the suspect is dead. Police said no one else was injured.

The North Carolina State Bureau of Investigation is investigating the shooting.
