Northeast Nebraska teacher arrested for alleged inappropriate relationship with student, NSP says

NORFOLK, Neb. (KCAU) – A teacher at a northeastern Nebraska school has been arrested on allegations of sexual abuse by a school employee.

The Nebraska State Patrol said in a news release that investigators were alerted last week to an alleged inappropriate relationship between a teacher and a student at Madison High School in Madison, Nebraska.

Following an investigation, authorities issued an arrest warrant Monday for Nixel Ortiz, 29, of Madison.

Ortiz was arrested Monday on charges of sexual abuse by a school employee. She was booked into the Madison County Jail.

The Nebraska State Patrol said the investigation is ongoing.
