Man arrested after stalking women with handsaw in Nashville: documents

NASHVILLE, Tenn. (WKRN) – A man accused of wielding a handsaw and using it to stalk women has been taken into custody.

According to court documents, the incident occurred shortly after midnight on Monday, May 20, in the 60 block of Lindsley Avenue.

Woman arrested for allegedly stabbing WeGo bus driver

A group of five women told officers that they were walking down the street when they observed a man walking “quickly” toward them. As the man approached, one of the victims reportedly saw what looked like a knife and said, “Knife!” to alert the others.

Officials said the suspect – identified as Leon Robins – demanded the women give him their phones while brandishing the weapon. However, they said that when they didn’t turn over their devices, Robins began chasing them with the gun.

Two women in the group told officers that they ran into a building to get away from Robins. This reportedly led to Robins knocking on the door and attempting to enter the building.

When police attempted to contact him, he allegedly approached them “aggressively” while still holding the gun.

According to court documents, police gave Robins the order to drop the gun and immediately took him into custody when he dropped it.
