Southern California teacher accused of sexual assault by students

Police in San Bernardino County are investigating allegations that a teacher at a local private school had inappropriate contact with multiple students over a three-year period and are searching for additional victims, authorities announced Tuesday.

Redlands Police Department investigators responded to the allegations on May 7 at the Redlands Adventist Academy at 130 Tennessee Street, according to an RPD news release.

Police believe the unknown male teacher “inappropriately touched” at least five female students aged 14 to 17. The most recent incident was reported late last month.

The administration at the Seventh-day Adventist K-12 school placed the teacher on leave pending an internal investigation, police said.

Redlands police are conducting a separate criminal investigation into the allegations.

Anyone who may have been a victim or has information regarding the investigation is urged to contact Redlands Police Department Detective Steve Truong at 909-798-7643.
