Closures, cancellations announced for Wednesday as Houston recovers from Hurricane Beryl

Hurricane Beryl caused severe damage in parts of the Houston area this week, and several school districts will keep their campuses closed Wednesday.

Closed on Wednesdays

Aldine ISD

The Aldine Independent School District will be closed Wednesday, July 10 and Thursday, July 11. The district is scheduled to reopen Monday, July 15.

Conroe Independent School District

Due to widespread power outages and to allow time for our community to continue to recover, Conroe ISD will be closed on Wednesday, July 10.

Crosby Independent School District

Due to ongoing power outages, Crosby ISD will remain closed for the remainder of the week (Wednesday, July 10 and Thursday, July 11). All student and athletic activities are canceled. We plan to resume normal operations on Monday, July 15.

Galena Park Independent School District

Due to the number of homes and district facilities without power, Galena Park ISD campuses and district offices will remain closed on Wednesday, July 10, 2024. All students and employees should stay home. Maintenance workers, groundskeepers, and custodians should contact their supervisors. We encourage everyone to prioritize their safety and exercise caution when traveling.

Humble ISD

Humble ISD is CLOSED the remainder of this week due to power outages and storm cleanup. Campuses and buildings will be closed Wednesday through Friday, July 10-12, 2024.

Katy Independent School District

Due to widespread and ongoing power outages at Katy ISD facilities, district campuses and support buildings will remain closed on Wednesday, July 10. There will be no student programming (except SACs), professional development, or facility rentals from Wednesday, July 10 through Sunday, July 14.

Pasadena Independent School District

Due to ongoing power outages in our district and facilities requiring ongoing storm cleanup, the Pasadena Independent School District will be closed tomorrow, Wednesday, July 10, 2024. However, we still plan to move forward with the duly called special board meeting at 5:00 p.m.

Pasadena Independent School District Administration Building 3920 Mickey Gilley Blvd. Pasadena Independent School District Maintenance and Operations continues to work to ensure our facilities can safely reopen. School operations and business offices are scheduled to resume on Thursday, July 11, 2024, unless otherwise advised.

The Pasadena ISD Wellness Clinic will be closed tomorrow, July 10, 2024.

Spring Branch Independent School District

Due to ongoing power outages and other issues facing our area as a result of Hurricane Beryl, Spring Branch ISD will remain closed tomorrow, Wednesday, July 10, 2024. All summer school programs are canceled and all facilities and offices remain closed. Essential staff and central office staff will be notified by their supervisor.

Willis Independent School District

Willis ISD schools and offices will remain closed tomorrow, Wednesday, July 10, due to ongoing power outages at several district campuses and facilities.
