NFL Analyst Reveals Brutal Assessment of Buffalo Bills

The Buffalo Bills shocked the NFL world by saying goodbye to Stefon Diggs and Gabe Davis. The change at receiver lowered fans’ expectations, but perhaps no lower than NFL analyst Craig Carton’s.

Speaking on Wednesday’s edition of “The Carton Show,” Carton looked ahead to the return of the moribund version of the franchise that struggled throughout the Tom Brady era.

“I can’t understand how anybody thinks the Buffalo Bills are going to be a team that’s over .500 this year,” Carton said.

Many believe the Bills are in for a long season this year without Diggs and Davis.

The playoffs could be a dream for Buffalo if Carton’s expectations come true. The vast majority of teams that make the playoffs do so after a campaign above .500. If the Bills fall even one game lower, they’ll be in trouble.

2024 marks a breakthrough season for Josh Allen

Patrick Mahomes has had his best weapon taken away in Tyreek Hill. The Super Bowl winner seems to be doing better than fine. Now that Josh Allen can no longer use Diggs or Davis, the trade will fall even more on Allen’s shoulders, much like it did for Mahomes after the Kansas City Chiefs traded Hill.

Allen has had his share of struggles in the past, so it remains to be seen how he will fare without Diggs and Davis in 2024.

Allen’s performance without his top two receivers will be telling. If he succeeds without his top two targets, he’ll prove that he’s the driving force behind the team’s success thus far. That said, if the team hits a wall this season, it’ll be clear that he’s been buoyed by the talent around him.

Whatever happens this season, the quarterback’s future could end by 2040 or when his current contract expires.

Even if Allen rebounds in 2025, the quarterback will have played his part as a rookie, Keon Coleman, and other young players could be credited for his success.

When they don’t have support, the best quarterbacks tend to stall.

Will Allen prove to be the team’s beating heart or simply its representative?
