Princess Anne still in hospital with concussion after horse accident

Princess Anne is reportedly still in hospital suffering from memory loss due to head injuries she sustained in an “incident” involving a horse at her home over the weekend.

The 73-year-old sister of King Charles and only daughter of the late Queen Elizabeth is expected to return home this week, according to The Telegraph.

Buckingham Palace confirmed in a statement on Monday that the former Olympic equestrian suffered “minor injuries and concussion following an incident” on Sunday evening at her Gatcombe Park estate in Gloucestershire, about 100 miles northwest of London.

The injuries, which led to the postponement of several planned operations this week, are reportedly consistent with a possible impact from a horse’s head or legs.

The palace described the hospitalization at the time as “a precautionary measure for observation” and noted that the king was “expected to make a full and speedy recovery.”

“The King has been kept fully informed and joins the entire Royal Family in sending the Princess his warmest love and best wishes for a speedy recovery,” the statement concluded.

Following his visit on Tuesday, Anne’s husband, Vice Admiral Sir Timothy Laurence, said the Queen was “recovering well” and thanked medical and emergency staff and well-wishers.

This is just the latest health-related incident in the British royal family, as both the monarch and Kate Middleton are undergoing cancer treatment after being hospitalized at the same time earlier this year.
