Islander takes advantage of traffic accident to steal phone

Cozumel, QR — An island resident who took advantage of a motorcycle accident to steal a cell phone was arrested. The arrest came after an accident on Juarez Avenue on Sunday.

Two tourists on a motorbike lost control and fell off the bike. When they landed on the road, their belongings were scattered around them. A passerby took advantage of the situation and grabbed a loose mobile phone.

Some witnesses to the accident also saw the man running away with the phone. One of these people was the woman who owned the phone. He was followed.

The police were called and quickly arrested the unnamed man on Adolfo Rosado Salas Street. The cell phone was returned to its owner.
