MONDAY WEATHER | Summer is almost here; highs in the mid-80s

Morning temperatures are in the 60s, as they have been for the past few weeks. In the afternoon we will return to the mid 80s for highs.

“This week is going to be a very hot week in north Georgia,” said Channel 2 Action News meteorologist Brian Monahan. “In fact, it’s the hottest weather of the year for many of us.”

Highs will be in the mid to upper 80s throughout the week, and little rain is forecast.

On Monday, there is a 20% chance of isolated showers in some areas. Most of the showers will stay north of the city, Monahan said.

Things stay mostly dry at least through Friday, when we’ll see 40% of scattered thunderstorms that will stay with us through the weekend.
