Atlanta Hawks Win First Spot in 2024 NBA Draft Lottery

ATLANTA, Ga. (WSAV) – The Atlanta Hawks have secured the top pick in the NBA draft for the first time in the lottery’s 40-year history.

The Hawks entered with a 3% chance of landing the first overall pick in the 2024 NBA Draft. This is after a 2023-24 season that saw them finish the year with the 10th worst record in the league.

Entering the lottery, the Detroit Pistons and Washington Wizards shared the best odds, with each team having a 14% chance of landing the first overall pick. The Pistons would finish with the number five pick while the Wizards fell one spot short of the top spot, finishing with the number two overall pick.

The 2024 NBA Draft will take place on June 26 and 27 at the Barclays Center in Brooklyn.
