LORANGER—Two suspects were arrested in the case of three stolen puppies.

Sarah Folse, 31, and Deanna Witten, 52, both of Amite, turned themselves in to the Tangipahoa Parish Jail on Thursday, July 4. They were each arrested on charges of theft and trespassing.

During the evening hours of Saturday, June 22, officers responded to a home invasion in the 17000 block of Highway 40 in the Loranger area for a report of a theft. Upon arrival, the homeowner reported that two white females had just pulled into his driveway in an unknown white vehicle, got out, and took three German Shepherd puppies off their leashes from his back porch. According to the homeowner, he became aware of the action through his home surveillance video shortly after he took the puppies outside for a quick bathroom break.

The whereabouts of the puppies are currently unknown and TPSO investigators continue to need the public’s assistance in locating the dogs.

Sheriff Gerald Sticker is urging anyone with information on the puppies’ whereabouts to contact the Criminal Investigation Bureau at 985-748-3335.
