Georgia leaders react to presidential debate in Atlanta

ATLANTA, Ga. (Atlanta News First) — Georgia leaders are reacting to the historic debate between President Joe Biden and former President Donald Trump in Atlanta Thursday night.

Burt Jones, Georgia’s lieutenant governor, congratulated Trump on his debate victory and said the choice between him and Biden “is clear.”

State Rep. Will Wade said people are worried about groceries, inflation and immigration.

“No one cares about presidential historians or golf handicaps,” he said on Twitter, formerly X.

State Rep. Houston Gaines said the question isn’t whether Biden should be the nominee, “he shouldn’t be president right now.”

“President Biden shared a vision of an America where everyone thrives. Donald Trump told lie after lie, then lied again,” Congresswoman Nikema Williams said on X.
