1 teenager dead, 2 others apparently rescued from drowning in Lake Michigan

A 17-year-old was found dead and two others were rescued in Lake Michigan after they got into water distress while swimming.

On Wednesday around 8:30 p.m., Milwaukee County Emergency Services received a report of a possible drowning accident in Lake Michigan. The Milwaukee County Sheriff’s Department responded and found three people, believed to be 17 years old, in distress in the water.

Two were pulled from the water. One of them had severe breathing difficulties and was taken to hospital in critical condition. The second was uninjured and was medically examined on site.

The third swimmer was later found dead in the water.

All three teenagers are believed to be related.

The Milwaukee County Sheriff’s Department is investigating the incident.
