Texas finalizes business court judges with Houston selections

Texas’ new business courts are finalized, with Gov. Greg Abbott (R) filling the Houston division Friday with Grant Dorfman, first deputy assistant to state Attorney General Ken Paxton (R), and Sofia Adrogué, partner at Diamond McCarthy LLP.

The announcements cap a flurry of activity since the governor’s announcement this week. Abbott recruited 10 commercial court judges, two each in Austin, Dallas, Fort Worth, San Antonio and Houston. He also sent three judges to a new appeals court in Austin that will handle appeals from commercial courts.
