Houston Traffic: TxDOT prepares to open I-610 West Loop northbound connector ramp to US-59 ramp this weekend

HOUSTON, Texas (KTRK) — Attention, Houston drivers! Work on the West Loop from I-610 to US-59 may impact your weekend travel.

The Texas Department of Transportation said crews plan to open the northbound connector ramp from the West Loop to northbound US-59.

As part of the reopening, TxDOT said two lanes of northbound I-610 at Bellaire Boulevard would be closed.

The road work is part of the I-610 W. Loop/I-69 SW interchange project, which aims to reduce traffic congestion and make the interchange safer.

The entire project is expected to be completed by the end of this year.
