Police report 1 dead after shooting in north Tulsa – 102.3 KRMG

TULSA, Oklahoma – Police are investigating a shooting in north Tulsa that left one man dead.

Multiple police units and fire trucks were on the scene near Pine and Yale where a man was shot Saturday morning. Police say the victim and another man got into an argument that resulted in the victim being shot in the upper torso.

The victim was taken to hospital by EMSA, where he was pronounced dead. A man in handcuffs was taken away from the scene.

Lieutenant Brandon Watkins of the Tulsa Police Department’s homicide unit said police are still investigating what led to the shooting but do not believe the victim and suspect knew each other.

“It doesn’t sound like that. It sounds like the victim was simply in the neighborhood with another person we have yet to locate and an altercation occurred,” Watkins said. “This kind of thing can happen anywhere, anytime.”
