Sold-out Megan Thee Stallion concert canceled for second night, no word on rescheduling – WSB-TV Channel 2

ATLANTA — State Farm Arena announces that rapper Megan Thee Stallion will not perform Saturday night.

“After discussions with the Mayor’s Office regarding ongoing water leak issues affecting Downtown Atlanta, the City of Atlanta is unable to host the Megan Thee Stallion show scheduled for tonight “, they said in a statement.

Water main breaks in the city of Atlanta have left most of the city without water or under a boil water advisory, including State Farm Arena, where she is scheduled to perform.

The rapper says she still wants to perform in front of her fans in Atlanta.

She went live on Instagram from the State Farm Arena stage Saturday afternoon to update fans.

“Call the mayor!” All day they told us we could play,” she said.

In the live video, she goes on to say that her team is looking for venues in the metro Atlanta area where she might be able to perform.

The artist was forced to postpone Friday’s show and reschedule it for Sunday.

In State Farm Arena’s statement regarding Saturday’s show, they did not specify whether the performance would be postponed.

In postponing Friday’s show, she posted on X, formerly known as Twitter, that she was “extremely disappointed” and announced a major surprise for her Atlanta fans.

Channel 2’s Elizabeth Rawlins was outside State Farm Arena Friday night after the show was postponed. They told him they were disappointed after their trip to town, but the show was canceled an hour before the doors were scheduled to open.

Sunday’s concert is expected to take place, but it is unclear when water service will be restored throughout the city.

Officials with Atlanta Watershed Management did not provide a timeline for when repairs will be completed and water service restored.
