Firefighters prevent dumpster fire from spreading at The Clove in Buffalo Grove

Firefighters prevented the spread of a large dumpster fire at the construction site of The Clove mixed-use development in Buffalo Grove.

The body of the open-top semi-trailer was fully involved in flames and smoke at 2:30 p.m. Friday, authorities said.

Firefighters deployed a ladder truck main hose and two other hoses to quickly extinguish the fire and prevent it from spreading to the neighboring building under construction.

Other firefighters worked to evacuate anyone in the building. No injuries were reported.

The seven-story, 275- to 300-unit building, with 16,000 square feet of commercial space on the first floor, is among the centerpieces of the $150 million mixed-use project under construction on Lake-West Roads. Cook and McHenry.

The fire remains under investigation.
