Raising Cane’s could open here in Western New York

Raising Cane’s could open here in Western New York

Buffalo is known for its good food. In fact, most visitors to Western New York go out of their way to try the food at local restaurants during their stay because it’s unlike any other place in the world.

And while we love our local restaurants, there are some chain restaurants in the area that we don’t mind having around because they’re known for their great atmosphere and specials. Some of these restaurants include Applebee’s, McDonald’s, Chick-Fil-A and many others.

However, there is a restaurant that many people want to open in Western New York…including a Buffalo Bills player who has been a strong advocate for the restaurant.

Buffalo Bills player wants lifting cane in Buffalo, NY

Reid Ferguson is the long snapper for the Buffalo Bills and Raising Cane’s is one of his favorite restaurants. Ferguson has made it clear in several tweets over the years that he would like to open a Raising Cane’s location in Buffalo.

Raising Cane’s is known for its chicken tenders, crinkle fries, Texas toast and coleslaw. Currently, the closest location to Raising Cane’s is in Ohio, but there is one that recently opened in New York.

But wouldn’t it be cool to have one in Buffalo?

Raising Cane CEO confirms it’s in the works

Todd Graves, CEO of Raising Cane’s, responded to one of Ferguson’s tweets in September, promising that a store in Buffalo would open soon.

But where should it open?

Actually, I have a few ideas….

Four possible locations to raise the canes

Given that all four Red Lobster locations have announced they will suddenly close their doors in Western New York and all of their equipment is currently being auctioned off, it seems like these locations should be considered potential Raising Cane sites.

The following locations could open as Raising Cane’s:

  • 3701 McKinley Pkwy, Buffalo, NY 14219
  • 4010 Maple Rd, Amherst, NY 14226
  • 7540 Transit Rd, Williamsville, NY 14221
  • 295 E Fairmount Avenue, Lakewood, NY 14750

All of these locations were recently Red Lobster restaurants, but as they are in the process of removing everything from these locations and closing their doors, this seems like a perfect opportunity for Raising Cane’s to step in and bring the building back to life.

But if you ask me, the Williamsville location would be top notch. 😉

Reid, do you think you’ll make it?
