Five Troy teens charged in connection with gun possession investigation

Five teenagers face weapons charges in Troy.

Two 17-year-olds, two 16-year-olds and a 15-year-old are accused of criminal possession of weapons. The 15-year-old is also accused of criminal possession of stolen goods.

Police found the weapons during a traffic stop near the Griswold Heights Apartments on Wednesday afternoon. The traffic stop was part of ongoing patrols in the area.

The juveniles were released due to a lack of space in the youth detention center. They are being monitored electronically and must appear in court at a later date.
