MAKE TRACKS – Ice cream lovers, get ready to gather Thursday at Lafayette Square in downtown Buffalo, where Hershey’s Ice Cream will be giving away 10,000 free scoops of Moose Tracks ice cream from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. With each scoop, Moose Tracks will donate $1 to FeedMore WNY to help the hungry. Moose Tracks, which serves Moose Tracks fudge and tiny peanut butter cups in vanilla ice cream, has raised more than $500,000 for local charities since 2010.

PLAY BALL – All tickets are free when the Jamestown Tarp Skunks baseball team hosts the Geneva Red Wings at 6:30 p.m. Thursday at Russell E. Diethrick Park, 485 Falconer St., Jamestown, courtesy of Live CHQ, which promotes the benefits of living in Chautauqua County. Pregame festivities begin at 5 p.m. The evening will also be an opportunity to pay tribute to the county’s first responders.

Hammerl Amusements will offer rides from 5 to 10 p.m. Friday, 12:30 to 10 p.m. Saturday and 12:30 to 8 p.m. Sunday. Armbands for the all-day rides are $30. Individual tickets are available. CORRECTION – The actual date for the South Buffalo Grammar Schools Happy Hour meeting is Aug. 6, 5-8 p.m., at the Knights of Columbus, 261 S. Legion Drive. FANS WANTED – Do you know someone who looks forward to the Erie County Fair all year long? Fair organizers want that person to become the ultimate 2024 fairgoer. Last year’s pick was Corey Bruce of Depew. Applications must be submitted at ecfair.org by July 24. The fair will take place from August 7 to 18.
