Terrorist attack in Kashmir: Soldier injured in attack on army camp in Rajouri

A soldier was injured in a terrorist attack on an army camp in Jammu and Kashmir’s Rajouri district on Sunday, a day after Two soldiers were killed in two terrorist attacks in Kulgam district.

The terrorists opened fire on the army camp and the soldiers guarding the post retaliated, resulting in injuries in the exchange of fire.

The attackers managed to escape after the attack, and the army and police launched a large-scale manhunt to track down the shooters in the area.

At least four terrorists were killed and two soldiers died in separate clashes in Kulgam district on Saturday. The clashes took place in the Frisal Chinnigam and Modergam areas of south Kashmir.

According to the officials, the terrorists were tracked down during a cordon and search operation, following which an exchange of fire ensued. Inspector General of Police (IGP) Kashmir VK Birdhi, who visited the spot, said the operation was ongoing.

Clashes in the interior of Kulgam district continued throughout the night.

On June 26, three terrorists were killed in an encounter with security forces in Doda district. After the army cordoned off a hideout containing four terrorists, a gunfight ensued in which three of them were killed.

On June 17, the army killed another terrorist in a gunfight in Aragam area of ​​Bandipora district, and two terrorist attacks took place in Doda on June 11 and 12.

Since the beginning of June, there have been several attacks in the state, the worst being the attack on a bus in Reasi. Terrorists from Pakistan are now targeting both security forces and innocent civilians.
