The Caitlin Clark Effect: The Fever is on a 5-1 streak and the Atlanta Hawks arena was sold out in their latest victory

Angel Reese must be blowing all the time right now. And I would be too if I were her and continued to be such a stupid, pedantic villain to Caitlin Clark, aka the face of women’s basketball.

It will never be funny that Clark was drafted to the worst team in the WNBA. Snubbed From Team USA For Summer Olympicsand led the Indiana Fever on a 5-1 run to get right back into the playoff mix.

But as Reese is too petty to admit it, Clark’s impact transcends what she does on the court by lifting up her teammates. She’s pure BOX OFFICE, BABY. How about the Atlanta Dream having to move their game to the Hawks’ NBA arena, and that venue selling out?

Could you name a player from the Dream Team (Olympic pun)? I can’t. Yet there were more than 17,000 people packed into State Farm Arena Friday night to watch the glorious story of Clark’s continued blossoming as a WNBA star unfold.

And while I understand some people might point out that Clark is still error-prone and leads the league in turnovers, perhaps making an example of her mediocre supporting cast…

… To these women’s credit, they stepped up their efforts Friday, as four Fever players joined Clark with double-digit scoring nights.

And that ? Oh, and while people like me continue to call Reese so much that she’s upset about every little positive development related to Caitlin Clark, the face of women’s basketball – I thought I’d say those exact words more ‘once to have an effect – is always taking the high road.

Translation: I don’t care about Angel Reese. And she shouldn’t do it.

Tell me, it’s Allen Iverson do you stop to watch Angel Hoop? Or is he more interested in one of the most dynamic playmakers the sport has ever seen on the women’s side?

Do you know the answer. The question was rhetorical.

So get this: Clark and Reese face off again on Sunday. When they faced each other last week, Clark got hit in the noggin by Reese on a flagrant foul 1. The time before that? Reese cheered from the bench as her teammate called Clark ab***h and pushed her onto the canvas out of nowhere.

It should be some women’s hoops cinema on Sunday in the Windy City when the Fever take on Reese’s Chicago Sky, who they have already beaten twice. I wonder what Angel has been up to lately. Oh that’s right. She should pack her bags for her next charter flight into the field.
