Man dead after motorcycle accident in Blacksmith Fork Canyon

HYRUM, Utah – A man died when two motorcycles collided in Blacksmith Fork Canyon Saturday night.

The Utah Highway Patrol told FOX 13 News that the crash occurred around 8:30 p.m. on SR 101, about six miles east of Hyrum. Two motorcycles, a blue 2007 Suzuki heading eastbound and a white 2004 Kawasaki heading westbound, collided side-by-side after the Suzuki crossed the center line at a high rate of speed.

It is dark, so the image is brightened by the headlights of a patrol car behind the photographer, casting shadows on the motorcycle. It is lying on its side in the grass next to the road.

Both riders were thrown from their motorcycles. The driver of the Suzuki, a 26-year-old man, died at the scene of the accident. The driver of the Kawasaki was transported away with non-life-threatening injuries.
