Buffalo Stampede set for Saturday | Local News

The 23rd annual event challenges runners on the ranch’s open course, offering either a 5K run or walk, or a 10K run. Along with the races, the event also benefits local charities through the Powder River Energy Foundation. The foundation supports children’s charities, feeding the hungry and helping local veterans, according to a press release about the event.

The Stampede’s famous bison breakfast burritos are served at 9:30 a.m., followed by prizes for top finishers and raffles. The buffalo chip throwing competition, very popular with the public, closes the day.

The cost is $30 per person and $60 per family. To register, pick up a form at the Campbell County Recreation Center, Wright Recreation Center or email [email protected]. Registration day begins at 7:30 a.m. Saturday. All registrants receive a T-shirt and breakfast. Family registrations include two T-shirts and breakfast for the family.

All participants are entered into drawings for door prizes.
