Three new incidents involving Boeing planes in just two days – KIRO 7 News Seattle

There have been three incidents involving Boeing aircraft in the last two days alone. But experts point out that these problems don’t necessarily mean Boeing is to blame.

“We don’t have accidents anymore, in fact it’s still the safest way to travel between the 10th and the 23rd, so to speak,” said John Nance, an aviation expert.

Dramatic video from an emergency evacuation in Senegal shows passengers getting out and sliding down emergency slides. Ten people were injured in the incident.

“We have no specific idea why the crew chose to abort, but there is nothing to indicate a manufacturing problem,” Nance said.

Nance pointed out that we still don’t know exactly what caused this.

In a statement, Boeing said: “Airlines operate and maintain their aircraft for more than 30 to 40 years. If you have any questions about fleet operations, we refer you to the operator.”

KIRO 7 is still waiting to hear back from the airline.

A Boeing 767 cargo plane operated by Fed Ex was forced to make an emergency landing in Istanbul after its front landing gear failed.

Nance said it was likely a maintenance issue.

Fed Ex sent KIRO 7 a statement saying, “FedEx Express Flight 6268, a Boeing 767, was en route from Paris, France to Istanbul, Turkey when it experienced an issue during landing on Wednesday morning.” No injuries to our crew members were reported. We are coordinating with investigators and will provide additional information as it becomes available.”

“It’s going to be okay because the mains are going to deploy, they’re going to touch down, and then you finally lower the nose onto the runway. There will be some metal damage, but it will not be a serious situation,” Nance said.

As for the tire that burst while landing on a Corendon Airlines 737-800, Nance said it happens.

“This is very common, even if we don’t want it to happen that way. Tires aren’t perfect,” Nance said. “After a certain number of landings, a landing may fail in an unexpected way. This has nothing to do with Boeing.”
