50 Cent faces backlash after mocking Michael Rainey Jr.’s sexual harassment, calling the incident an “aggressive move”

rapper 50 cents is once again in the spotlight for his comments on social media, this time on Performance Actor Michael Rainey Jr.who was sexually harassed during a live stream performance.

The 48-year-old television producer dismissed the seriousness of the incident in a now-deleted Instagram post. He wrote:

“Wait, sexual assault…from a male perspective, that was an aggressive approach. LOL, HE’S fine, no charges will be filed.”

After he seemingly downplayed the situation, social media erupted with anger as users accused 50 cent of gaslighting and the perpetuation of toxic masculinity.

An X user wrote:

“50 Cent’s co-worker Michael Rainey Jr. was publicly sexually assaulted and 50’s response was to insult him, paint him in a bad light and dismiss the situation. And this was all during Men’s Mental Health Awareness Month. Men don’t care about other men.”

Another X user commented:

“The level of toxic masculinity displayed by men of the 80s, 70s, 60s and earlier makes me sick. Michael Rainey Jr. was attacked in front of many people and teenagers. When 50 Cent calls that ‘aggressive approach’ it really makes me sick.”

Shortly thereafter, 50 cent seemed to back off from his statements… well, sort of.

He underlined his position with the statement:

“I saw it as a form of flattery, something I have accepted from female fans throughout my career.”

However, he sarcastically demanded TyTy James’ Sister should be held accountable, noted,

“But okay, guys, put her in jail! Whatever you want.”

As previously reported, actor Michael Rainey Jr.23, was at the center of a disturbing incident during a Twitch livestream hosted by a popular streamer TyTy James. During the stream TyTy James‘ Sister appeared to be sexually abusive Rainey Jr., which caused discomfort as she touched him inappropriately.

In a subsequent stream TyTy James24, initially expressed his frustration and stated:

“I try to just ignore this shit but I’m getting texts, the energy changed and the n***** up and left. All this shit really made me feel this way.”

However, TyTy James later issued a statement apologizing Michael Rainey Jr. and condemned his sister’s actions.

Michael Rainey Jr. also addressed the incident and emphasized the seriousness of sexual assault.
