1 dead and 4 injured in shooting near Compton College; investigation ongoing

COMPTON, Calif. (KABC) – One person was killed and four others injured in a shooting near Compton College Friday evening.

The incident was reported around 7:50 p.m. near Mayo Avenue and Greenleaf Boulevard.

According to the Compton Fire Department, one man was found dead at the scene. Another man and three women were taken to the hospital, but their conditions are unknown.

It is unclear what sparked the shooting, but the sheriff’s office said the shooting occurred on the road near the school.

There is also no information yet about the suspects.
