Perpetrator shot during DEA confrontation in Hattiesburg, Mississippi – Investigation Department investigates

JACKSON, miss. – The Mississippi Bureau of Investigation (MBI) is investigating an officer
concerned a shooting involving the Drug Enforcement Agency that occurred on June 3, 2024.

An agent and a Task Force Officer (TFO) transported two people to the federal court in
Hattiesburg, Mississippi. During the transport, an altercation occurred between the agent and a
of the individuals, causing the agent to sustain injuries. The task force officer fired his weapon, striking the individual.

Both the pathogen and the victim were taken to a local hospital. This information is
