A 4-year-old girl died after police said she was left unattended in a vehicle in northwest Houston.

HOUSTON, Texas (KTRK) — A 4-year-old girl died after being left unattended in a car in northwest Houston Wednesday night, police said.

Investigators said the girl was in a Chevrolet pickup truck with two women and other children. They were all running errands when they pulled into a parking spot at an apartment complex in the 6500 block of Hollister.

The women and other children entered an apartment but left the 4-year-old girl behind. Investigators believe the girl was left in the car for about an hour until a parent found her and called 911.
