MABLETON, Georgia, June 17, 2024–(BUSINESS WIRE)–The Girl Scouts of Greater Atlanta (GSGATL) today announced the appointment of Jai Ferrell (pronouns She/Her/Hers) as the council’s new Executive Director, effective July 1, 2024. An experienced business leader with deep roots in the Atlanta community, Ferrell brings to the organization a unique blend of experience, values ​​and passion for mission-driven leadership.

After an extensive and thoughtful nationwide search, the Board of Directors selected Ferrell for her alignment with the Girl Scouts’ mission of developing girls of courage, confidence, and character, combined with a strong set of skills and unique experiences including marketing revenue management and ability to manage. complex and multi-party environments.

Ferrell, an Atlanta native and former Girl Scout, has strong ties to the region’s business, government and cultural leaders. Her professional experience spans complex, multi-stakeholder environments, most recently serving as Director of Commercial/Revenue for Hartsfield-Jackson Atlanta International Airport. Notably, Ferrell will also be the first person of color to lead the Girl Scouts of Greater Atlanta Council.

She is an award-winning executive recognized for her leadership, including being named one of Atlanta Magazine’s Top 500 Leaders (2024, 2023 and 2022) and a Female Travel and Hospitality Industry Honoree (2023).

A fifth-generation Atlantan, Ferrell holds a bachelor’s degree from Spelman College and a master’s degree from Georgia State University. In 2023, she completed the Executive Education program at Harvard Business School, earning the Certificate of Excellence in Management. She is also deeply involved in community service, serving on the board of directors of the Andrew & Walter Young YMCA and actively partnering with several institutions in Atlanta, Clayton, DeKalb and Fulton County Schools.
