Fatal crash in Pelham, Massachusetts, under investigation – NBC Boston

A 19-year-old driver was killed in a traffic accident on Route 202 in Pelham, Massachusetts on Monday evening.

Massachusetts State Police said the Essex man was driving a 2013 Toyota Sienna on Route 202 around 7:15 p.m. when he struck a tree, causing the car to catch fire.

Rescue workers freed the driver and took him to hospital, where he was pronounced dead.

The victim’s name has not been released publicly.

The road was closed in both directions for three hours, but has now reopened. The accident is still under investigation.
