The best weather in the world is expected until Wednesday

HONOLULU (HawaiiNewsNow) – Light trade winds will continue through midweek, then ease off Thursday into the weekend as the surface ridge to the north weakens. A dry air mass will limit rain chances through most of the week, with the best chances remaining overnight into the morning hours over windward and mauka areas. A slight increase in moisture associated with a mid- to upper-level disturbance could result in better rain coverage later in the week and into next weekend.

A small, longer-term SSW swell should arrive Friday and peak over the weekend, with surf heights near or slightly above summer averages. A small, short-term NNW swell could arrive around Thursday. Small, long-term E swells due to increased tropical cyclones in the eastern Pacific could arrive starting Wednesday (low certainty), resulting in a slight increase in surf heights.
