Things are getting worse for Ava Kris Tyson

Things are getting worse for Ava Kris Tyson

The following article contains allegations of sexual assault and grooming.

The world of content creation was rocked this week when Ava Kris Tyson, a former member of MrBeast’s crew, faced multiple allegations of misconduct, including sending inappropriate messages to minors. One of Tyson’s alleged victims, who goes by the online name LavaGS, initially denied many of the stories circulating online, but eventually acknowledged that many of their interactions over Discord were inappropriate in nature. Lava explained in a post on X (formerly Twitter), “I was a minor in that situation and not the adult influencer who shouldn’t have allowed that to happen. I didn’t feel that was wrong at the time.” Despite this, Lava maintains that while he believes the jokes and conversations on Tyson’s Discord server were inappropriate, he was not abused in any way by Tyson.

On July 27, screenshots of hundreds of thousands of messages from this now-defunct Discord server were leaked online by Nathan W. on X, who claims to have been a moderator of the server. Among these screenshots are conversations in which Tyson argues for the existence of a “NSFW” channel to post explicit images regardless of whether minors are present in the channel, as well as numerous jokes and conversations of a sexual nature. These leaks sparked even more discussion and another statement from Lava.

After saying that the messages were “not nearly as incriminating as everyone thought,” Lava added that he felt some of it was simply a product of its time. “There were some strange conversations, I’m honestly glad these leaks came to light as they show a very different time of the internet. Hopefully these leaks can be an effective piece of evidence for the third party investigation commissioned by MrBeast.” However, Lava ended this post by pointing people to some of the other allegations against Ava Kris Tyson, which remain serious.

Mooskina tells her story

In another shocking allegation, a former MrBeast employee has accused Ava Kris Tyson of sexual assault, claiming she has been in a secret one-sided relationship with the content creator since 2022. In a lengthy thread posted to X, @Mooskina claims she first met Tyson through social media when the two discussed the possibility of her joining the MrBeast crew. “She was the most famous person to ever give me that kind of attention, and she immediately started showering me with expressions of love and making me feel like the most important person in her life,” Mooskina explains.

After moving their conversations to Snapchat, Mooskina claims their video calls took an explicit turn very quickly. Mooskina says Tyson abused the power dynamic between them, writing, “I always felt like if I wanted to be in a video or get a job, I had to say yes… Our relationship was very confusing to me and I didn’t fully realize at the time that I was being coerced.” When meeting in person, Mooskina says she was further coerced into performing physical acts with Tyson, only to find out she didn’t have the authority to use Mooskina (or anyone else) in a video for MrBeast’s channel.

The investigation continues

After moving in with Tyson and becoming her personal assistant, things became increasingly complicated, according to Mooskina. She explains, “(Ava) was able to manipulate me very easily with the power she had over me.” When things reached a critical point and Mooskina moved out of her apartment to work from home, she claims she was quickly replaced. Mooskina has since reached out to MrBeast’s HR department, who in turn have launched an investigation into Tyson’s background. Mooskina concludes that she was quite disturbed by the stories that have since come to light about Tyson and her Discord server, but she needed to get her story out there in order to heal: “I don’t want hush money and I don’t want influence. I just want to be able to move on with my life and close this chapter.”

It is currently unclear if the investigation mentioned by Mooskina is the same one that MrBeast reported on a few days after the allegations against Tyson surfaced, but it is very likely that this is not the end of the story.
