HOUSTON, Texas (KTRK) — The Houston Police Department is responding to a reported shooting Saturday night at a west Houston park that left one person dead and another injured.

Police say the shooting happened around 7:32 p.m. at a basketball court at Alief Amity Park, 12509 Alief Clodine Road.

Authorities say an argument took place between three men, during which one was hit in the head (not shot) with an object and another was shot and then pronounced dead at the scene. Police do not know where the third man is.

Authorities say there was gambling going on at the park when the shooting occurred.

Police said the man who was hit in the head was taken to hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.

Authorities are trying to get more witnesses for the investigation.
