Investigation of a fatal accident

Wheeling police are investigating a fatal overnight crash.

On Sunday, at about 1:20 a.m., police and emergency personnel were called to West Virginia Route 2 southbound near the substation because a single vehicle had struck the guardrail.

The driver, identified as Seth Thomas O’Bright, 23, of Wheeling, was ejected from the car and taken to Wheeling Hospital, where he later died.

The road was reopened around 5 a.m. and the accident remains under investigation.
