Suraj Revanna promised a JD(S) worker a job and high political prestige during sexual assault: “Next time it will be better”

Karnataka MP Suraj Revanna, who was arrested earlier today for allegedly sexually abusing a 27-year-old male worker of the Janta Dal (Secular) party, had allegedly promised the victim a job and high political status “if he agreed to be with him”, according to the FIR.

Suraj Revanna is the brother of former MP Prajwal Revanna, who is accused of sexually abusing several women.

During the alleged assault, Suraj also told the victim that the sex would be “better next time” because it was the first time the 27-year-old had had sex with him.

According to a report by news agency PTI citing police sources, the MLC was arrested in Hassan for “unnatural offences”.

Here are the gruesome details of the JD(S) worker’s ordeal on June 16 at Suraj Revanna’s farm in Gannikada, revealed in the FIR:

• Suraj invited the 27-year-old to his farm on June 16 and asked him to come between 6:00 p.m. and 6:15 p.m. The victim reached Suraj’s farm at the agreed time.
• According to the FIR, Suraj instructed the JD(S) worker to close the door as he entered the room. Without warning, the MLC placed his hands on the victim’s shoulders, stroked his ears and kissed him.

• The subtle approach quickly escalated when Suraj bit the party worker’s lip and promised him career advancement if he agreed to be with him.
• When Suraj protested against the advances, he threatened to kill the victim while invoking the influence of the Revanna family. The MLC then dragged the victim to his bedroom where he hugged him tightly, bit his cheeks and touched his private parts.
• The attack continued as Suraj Revanna forced the party worker to perform unwanted physical acts and performed oral and anal sex despite his obvious discomfort and requests to stop, the FIR said.

• Suraj Revanna tried to justify the sexual assault by saying that it would get better with time because the victim was crying and begging him to stop.
• According to the FIR, Suraj kissed the victim and assured him that he would help him boost his political reputation and get him a job. However, Suraj said all this would happen only if the victim obeyed him at all costs, met him whenever he wanted and responded appropriately to his messages.

• Suraj then demanded an apology from the victim for not cooperating with his advances and asked him to reply to his message once he returned home.
• He also asked the 27-year-old to “relax” and wished him a good night.
