Two dead and seven injured in shooting at a bar in Pittsburgh

According to police, two people were dead and seven others injured in a shooting at a bar in a Pittsburgh suburb.

The Allegheny County Police Department’s Homicide Unit said it responded to a call for assistance from Penn Hills police following the shooting at Ballers Hookah Lounge and Cigar Bar in Penn Hills.

Rescue workers discovered the bodies of an adult man and an adult woman in the bar. Seven other victims were found.

Some were taken away from the scene and other victims were taken to area hospitals, Allegheny County police said in a statement on social media.

One of the victims is in critical condition. The other victims all suffered injuries that were not life-threatening, the statement said.

According to preliminary information, “an altercation took place in the bar and several people opened fire,” district police said.

The statement did not specify whether any suspects were in custody.
