Whitney Houston would have turned 50 today

It’s been nearly a year and a half since pop music lost one of the greatest, purest voices it ever had.

There isn’t much that hasn’t been said about the life and legacy of Whitney Houston since her sudden (but perhaps not entirely unexpected) death on February 11, 2012. But it’s still worth the worth revisiting her music — you can find EW’s essential Whitney playlist here, along with a career-spanning video collection and photo gallery, or just dive into the countless online tributes.

To specifically honor the day, there’s a new Whitney-centric comic strip — a little strange, but well-intentioned — and Sirius XM is hosting a daylong special on its Heart & Soul channel, showcasing about two decades of her music , as well as memories from friends and family (including Cissy Houston, Pat Houston, Dionne Warwick, Clive Davis, Chaka Khan and R. Kelly).

Readers, will you remember Whitney in your own way today? Let us know in the comments.
