Mother, son in critical condition after shooting at northeast Houston apartment complex

HOUSTON – A mother and son are reported to be in critical but stable condition after a shooting at a northeast Houston apartment complex.

It happened in the 5300 block of S. Lake Houston Pkwy around 3:19 p.m.

The Houston Police Department said it was called when several residents called to report gunshots in the complex’s parking lot.

Police arrived at the scene to find several cars had been hit by bullets.

At first, they didn’t find any gunshot victims, but they later learned that two people, a mother and son, had driven to another location in the county after being shot. Harris County officers responded to the scene and transported them to the hospital.

At this time, HPD says it has no information on suspects. They are currently looking for surveillance video and any information about the shooting.
