Jackson Parish officials arrest man for third-degree rape

JACKSON PARISH, Louisiana (KNOE) – The Jackson Parish Sheriff’s Office has arrested a 60-year-old man for third-degree rape.

According to the JPSO website, Charles Smith Sr. was arrested on June 4 on the following charges:

• Third degree rape
• Indecent behavior towards minors
• Harassment of a minor
• Contribution to juvenile delinquency

Smith’s bail was set at $1,650,000.
