CAO appoints new president and CEO

Cannon replaces Thomas Kim who resigned earlier this year.

A nationwide job search was launched after Kim left office in January.

Until now, Cannon served as commissioner of the Erie County Department of Human Services.

She will be the first woman to head an agency fighting poverty.

Former Buffalo Common Council member Ulysees Wingo has served as interim president since Kim’s departure. He is expected to continue working for the agency.
