Local developer pays $12.25 million for Wedgewood-Houston property | Development

The seller was local real estate investor Scott Chambers, who paid $880,000 for the two-parcel property in 2011, according to Metro records.

Johnson told the Job he’s not ready to discuss any long-term plans he might have for the property.

There are two buildings on the 1.68-acre site, both with an address of 516 Hagan St. One of them houses the Nashville Craft Distillery. Besides Dozen Bakery and Manuel Zeitlin Architects (who also operate the Zeitgeist Art Gallery in the building), the other building houses the David Lusk Art Gallery. The property at 500 Hagan Street is raw land.

The purchase comes as Claire Meneely, owner of Dozen Bakery, plans to move her business to Woodbine in early 2025 (read here).

Johnson recently posted images related to a mixed-use building planned for a Green Hills site near Hillsboro Pike and Calvary United Methodist Church and offers an address of 2121 Crestmoor Road (read here). A partnership involving Fort Lauderdale, Fla.-based Material Ventures and Stiles Corp. paid $7.25 million for the property in September 2023.

Elam Freeman, founder and principal of Ojas Partners, facilitated the recent Wedgewood-Houston transaction for both parties.
